This is the first video of my Ph.D project Gestus. From now on I am planning to create video-based diary on this tumblr-log. It will be a series of videos representing the progress development and implementation of my work. This aims towards evaluating issues such as the design of the multitouch table, the accuracy on my camera tracking technique, my supercollider work and of course the all the various interactive ways of making music more exciting.

The clip is entitled “Parametric GesTUIO - Testing Sounds”, in which i am demonstrating some major interactive ways on experimenting with sound parameters, when using fiducials markers. These are the rotation of the object, and moving directions in the x,y axis. The sounds heard, are both synths and samples that i have created and placed in my SL (Sound Library).

Please note that on this demonstration i am not using any infrared lighting. All the lighting is provided from a simple lamp. Also, note that there isn’t any tracing paper on the acrylic surface. This results to the reflection in the middle of the surface. I am planning to fix that asap.
